Some Christians often suggest that the Bible is, “The Infallible Word of God.” Is this a logical statement? When considering that most people read a version of the Bible that is translated, interpreted and printed by human beings, it does not seem that such a premise is logical for a myriad of reasons. A quick Google of this phrase produces the anticipated results. From todays page one; here are two that I liked: http://christiannews.christianet.com/1219329187.htm

I would like to offer what is perhaps a not-so-new perspective, but I really do not know if it is. Since I spend most of my blogging time hoping that God will find a way to use me, without outside bias, I cannot state with any certainty that I have adopted a perspective that is shared by other Christians. But since the righteous are as bold as a lion ( Prov 28:1 ), I’ll risk ostracism, albeit prayerfully.
There are many forms of communication. Two of them are verbal and written. A third to consider, from a believer’s perspective, is divine revelation or insight.  Although, the latter will come up in this blog series, the main focus of this blog is on the second.
Scripture communicates. To those capable of reading and understanding the language in which it is written, this is simply an academic observation. Establishing the veracity of scripture is one inductive path forward, while others are the interpretation of its meaning and an investigation into its purpose. I am quite confident that a short list of three is insufficient for a full on discussion; nevertheless, a start is provided. Whatever the ensuing path of inference, the initial premise remains valid.
The most derisive thing that I will put forth is a concession that scripture, as evidence, is problematic. If I simply declare it human, even though divinely inspired, I leave room for anyone to conclude that scripture is errant. I offer that provisional agreement with a condition. If I relinquish a traditional, Christian worldview of the Bible, then I would beseech reciprocity from any non-believing reader.? I ask that anyone feeling somewhat vindicated by that position to consider that I place it on the table, without remorse or a sense of compromise. Rather, I believe that God’s Word, regardless of the medium of communication, establishes all Truth. And as I have already indicated on the Believers page, I believe logic to be His Word.
So what does the Bible say about scripture? 2 Pet 1:16-21 and 2 Tim 3:16-17

Pretending God exists, a curious non-believer can infer that scripture contains human error and God’s Word. It is the human part that calls interpretation into question, not the purity of the inspired Word. Nevertheless, it is useful to God for His purpose.
